Hayden has over a decade of experience across the health and ageing sectors, with an established record supporting commonwealth and state governments, peak bodies, health services, the private sector and system leaders on complex policy, strategy, evaluation and service reform challenges. Hayden is known for his calm and considered approach to project delivery that supports clients to translate findings into implementable actions that achieve measurable results.

How he got here

  • Led the review of the National Blood Arrangements for the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing
  • Led the national consultation process for the development of the National Carer Strategy for the Department of Social Services.
  • Led the aged care public consultation process to inform national reform and pricing arrangements for the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority.
  • Led the co-design and implementation of a pro-active care service delivery model in general practice for a private healthcare provider.
  • Led the evaluation of the Nurse Practitioner Pilot Program for the Department of Health Western Australia.
  • Led the review of the sustainability of private obstetrics services in Australian private hospitals that tracked consumer sentiment for the Australian Health Service Alliance.
  • Worked with Victorian and Commonwealth government agencies on COVID-19 response activities including public health directions, vaccine rollout and disease surveillance capabilities.
  • Served as a Board Director at Swan Hill District Health and held earlier health promotion roles, grounding his consulting work in practical health service delivery experience.
