The National Blood Costing Study (2014)

The National Blood Authority engaged HealthConsult to conduct a study that measures the costs associated with the use of blood products in Australian hospitals.  This project will investigate the direct costs associated with the administration and management of red cells and also the indirect costs associated with adverse events or clinical outcomes as a result of allogeneic blood transfusions.  The project commenced in May 2014 and was completed in June 2015.
