Evaluation of the End of Life Directions for Aged Care (ELDAC) Program

The Commonwealth Department of Health engaged HealthConsult to evaluate the End of Life Directions for Aged Care (ELDAC) program. The ELDAC was established to provide advisory services to support aged care providers and primary care providers in residential or community care settings to provide quality palliative care.  ELDAC aims to build and enhance the capacity of these providers to provide quality palliative care, and enhance community and professional awareness of timely and appropriate access to palliative care services.  The evaluation of the ELDAC involves working with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Consortium to co-design many aspects of the evaluation including the program logic model, evaluation framework and data collection infrastructure.  The evaluation involves baseline, midpoint and end point data collection over a three year period.  The project commenced in October 2017 and is due for completion in April 2020
