Evaluation and Business Model Review and Development for RESUS4KIDS (2015)

The primary purpose of the RESUS4KIDS Program, funded by NSW Kids and Families, is to enable healthcare rescuers across NSW Health who work in acute healthcare settings with infants and children to become confident, skilled and competent when performing paediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). NSW Kids and Families engaged HealthConsult to evaluate the current approach for delivering RESUS4KIDS, as well as to recommend a business model moving forward that will ensure the continued viability of the Program in terms of the way in which it is delivered as well as funded. Key features of the evaluation methodology included undertaking a comprehensive environmental scan, developing a RESUS4KIDS Program Logic Model as well as a comprehensive evaluation framework to determine the effectiveness, appropriateness, efficiency and sustainability of its current delivery approach. The project also determined the most effective structure for the Program into the future, and formulated and examined the viability of a number of different funding models moving forward. The project commenced in March 2015 and was completed in November 2015.
