Electronic Patient Record and Community Business Case Benefits Realisation

Electronic Patient Record and Community Business Case Benefits Realisation

Bendigo Health has a strategy for implementing an Electronic Patient Record (EPR). The business case for an EPR has been approved and the project is underway with a go-live expected in March 2020. A community services solution for the whole network including the Loddon Mallee Rural Health Alliance is about to be selected with the first site planned for rollout in mid-2019, and all sites completed within nine months.

We are working with the Bendigo Health EPR project team to critically review the existing EPR business benefits model for Bendigo Health reflecting the business case and any changes in the environment and project subsequent. In addition, the EPR business benefits model will be extended to include benefits for the rollout of the community services solution.

The updated EPR and Community business benefits model will be used to provide transparency and the evidence base on the benefits expected and achieved through the EPR and Community projects. We will be leveraging the Bendigo Health Sycle performance reporting system and the Amplify workflow tools and value lifecycle to capture, evaluate and report on the current and forecast value of benefits delivered.
