Education workshops to support the implementation of ABF in the Northern Territory (2012)

The Department of Health in the Northern Territory (NT) engaged HealthConsult to provide a series of education workshops to support the implementation of activity based funding (ABF) in the NT. The project also included analysis of the 2009/10 National Hospital Costs Data Collection (NHCDC) data for NT Hospitals to produce an information package for each hospital to be used in the workshops. Some 20 individual workshops (one to two hours duration) were delivered across the five NT hospitals with the aim of ensuring that hospital staff (clinical and administrative) had sufficient knowledge to engage in the national and NT-specific health reform processes related to ABF. The project started in June 2012 and was completed in August 2012.
