Development of a Quality Framework for the National Hospital Costs Data Collection (2010)

The Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) engaged HealthConsult to further refine and test a draft Quality Framework for assessing the quality of the data submitted to the National Hospital Costs Data Collection (NHCDC) developed by the NHCDC Technical Reference Group (TRG). The objective was to produce an algorithm to derive an overall score that provides an indicator of the quality of the NHCDC data for each participating hospital by assessing compliance with the Australian Hospital Patient Costing Standards (AHPCS). The project commenced in July 2010 and was completed in February 2011.
