Costing of the surgical education and training program for three RACS sub-specialities (2013)

Costing of the surgical education and training program for three RACS sub-specialities (2013)

The Australian Orthopaedic Association, the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand collectively engaged HealthConsult to estimate the costs associated with delivering the surgical education and training (SET) program in its current format, and in the proposed new service Agreement with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, as reflected in the service activity schedule that will be part of that Agreement. The project used a protocol driven activity based costing approach (process maps, resource units and standard unit costs) to estimate of the costs of delivering the three surgical sub-specialty training programs. The project started in March 2013 and was completed in November 2013.
